The book launch date approaches!

Two years ago almost to the day, I responded to a representative from Routledge asking if I may be interested in submitting any proposals for books they may want to publish. Having always wanted to write a book (I did start and run an eBook publishing company once afterall!), I responded with gusto and provided ideas for three books.

I put together a few chapters for the first one along with a proposal, submitted it, got some feedback from peer reviewers, and was then offered a contract. I then spent the next year and a half writing parts of it, sending off more chapters, getting more peer feedback, and then working with production team. It was all a lot of work!

Thus, I'm incredibly excited to share today that the first edition of my first book, Experimenting with Emerging Media platforms: Field Testing the Future, has gone to press and is on track to ship by June 1. In addition, pre-orders for the original version from Routledge will be able to be placed beginning May 11. You can find information about that on the Routledge listing.

I will be working with Routledge to get discounts for certain events and activities that support the book, beginning with readers of this blog. If you sign up for my mailing list, I will try to get a special discount coupon code out right on May 11.

One last thing worth mentioning: you may notice that the book has been on pre-order from Amazon for a while. Those preorders will work, and getting sales and reviews on Amazon is very helpful for a book's ranking. But if you want the best quality version, you should order directly from Routledge. That's also the only way to get author discounts that I pass on to you. (But please, once the book launches, leave a review on Amazon, Good Reads or anywhere you can. Everything helps!)

As Lao Tzu said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, and that is how I feel now. The first step was that proposal, but now the bigger journey begins. I want to thank everyone at Routledge, colleagues and friends who are mentioned or interviewed in the book, my kids and my partner, for all of their support that allowed me to begin this journey as an author.
